“We do have women that are coming on to the Women’s Mobile Health Unit that have no insurance, and we can still take care of them and they don't have to worry about a bill because of donor support.”
Denise Turoczi, BSN, RN, OCN, Manager for Gynecological Oncology Nurse Navigation, UPMC Central Pa.
This milestone was made possible through the generosity of lead sponsor Universal Media, Inc., with support from Benchmark Construction and the Truist Foundation, and through a powerful connection fostered by Women for Wellness.
Day of gratitude
On September 19th, the UPMC Pinnacle Foundation celebrated our annual Day of Gratitude. Our D.O.G. ambassador pet therapy teams took to the hospitals, visiting patients and sharing smiles as we honored the incredible UPMC Central Pa. teams making life-changing care possible. This day is a powerful reminder that gratitude changes everything. Read some of our powerful Day of Gratitude testimonials below:

Hope on the Horizon
Through its partnership with the LHM Foundation, the UPMC Pinnacle Foundation supports transitional housing for patients experiencing homelessness, providing a stable place to recover while accessing medical care and community support.
More Resources
The UPMC Pinnacle Foundation is proud to collaborate with community partners and support the LHM Foundation’s vision for a new transitional housing community. The transitional housing program, which opened January 12, 2026, is designed as a true lifeline: up to 18 months of stability, nourishment, and community. Its purpose is both profound and deeply practical, addressing housing insecurity, food insecurity, and the isolation so many unhoused individuals and families experience.
The UPMC Pinnacle Foundation is supporting two units at LHM Foundation’s facility which will be dedicated to UPMC patients experiencing homelessness. This short-term respite housing will provide patients with a clean, secure environment for recuperation while receiving follow-up visits from the UPMC Central Pa. Street Medicine team.

Grateful patient stories
My experience was really outstanding. Being allergic to the dye, the staff took so many extra precautions. They were excellent. Prior to my procedure, the nurse called me at home and explained everything that was to happen. She stood with me the whole time and then I got a follow up call at home later. I have been to this hospital numerous times. We would not go anywhere else. The service is top notch and everyone cares so much.
