Building on more than six years of sponsoring one of the seminal insurtech conferences, our inaugural InsurTech Summit NYC, a half-day, in-person event, will feature leading VCs, emerging companies of all stages, as well as other key stakeholders.
The program will be held in our new office at One Vanderbilt Avenue and include three engaging panel discussions on the chief commercial and legal issues currently impacting this rapidly evolving sector. The full program agenda is below.
After the program, we will have cocktails and networking at Chef Daniel Boulud’s La Terrace, an outdoor venue overlooking Grand Central, on the third floor of One Vanderbilt.

Investments in the insurtech sector are a mosaic of evolving risk and opportunity. Where are the truly revolutionary ideas and execution? How, where and when does venture capital best navigate this ecosystem? And what must insurtech startups pull off to gain the attention of an ever-discerning investor base? McDermott Partner Michael Halsband will lead an investors’ perspective panel that will address the above questions and discuss other insurtech investment trends.

Execution and Innovation
McDermott Partner Alexandra Scheibe will lead a panel of founders and investors that will cover smart contracts and crypto-based insurtech products, making a case for the implementation and leverage of smart contracts, tokenization, cryptocurrency and blockchain in the insurance space. This will be an insightful discussion about the role of smart contracts in the future of insurtech from the perspective of true innovators and market leaders.
